Let Agentforce read sequence status and engagement signals from Outreach

Outreach is where your sales team runs sequences, logs calls, and tracks how prospects engage with every touchpoint — opens, replies, call outcomes, and cadence steps. When Emerge Digital connects it to Salesforce Agentforce, an agent handling an inbound inquiry or preparing a rep for a follow-up can read the full sequence context: which step the prospect is on, what they last engaged with, and whether a prior call recording captured a specific objection. The agent speaks to where the prospect actually is in the engagement, not where a CRM field says they should be.

What this unlocks

  • Sequence-aware conversations: an agent knows which cadence step a contact is on and what they have and have not engaged with, so a follow-up continues the thread rather than restarting it from scratch.
  • Call recording context: when a relevant call exists in Outreach, an agent can reference what was discussed and what the rep committed to, so the next interaction picks up from the last one.
  • Engagement signal routing: a prospect who opens an email multiple times but has not replied is a signal the agent can act on — escalating to a rep or adjusting the outreach approach rather than advancing the sequence blindly.
  • Rep handoff with full context: when a conversation warrants a human, the agent hands off with the sequence history, engagement signals, and relevant call notes already surfaced — the rep does not have to find them.

In the customer journey

Follow up from where the sequence left off

An inbound reply arrives and the agent reads the sequence step, last email content, and engagement history from Outreach before drafting a response — so the reply continues the conversation rather than treating it as a new inquiry that needs to be re-established from scratch.

Surface the objection from the last call

A rep is preparing for a second call. The agent retrieves the Outreach call recording transcript, flags the key objection raised by the prospect, and surfaces the relevant product context alongside it — so the rep walks in prepared rather than relying on notes from memory.

Route the high-intent signal before it goes cold

A prospect who has opened the same email six times over two days triggers the agent to flag this to the owning rep and reconsider the next sequence step, so high-intent behaviour gets a timely human response rather than the next automated email in the cadence.

Why not the Outreach–Salesforce native sync?

Outreach has a native Salesforce sync that writes sequence activity, email engagement, and call dispositions back to Salesforce as activity records. This is useful for CRM hygiene and reporting — but it is not designed to make sequence state, engagement signals, or call transcript content queryable by an AI agent in real time. An Agentforce agent cannot ask the native sync which step a contact is on, retrieve a call recording's key moments, or adjust a sequence step based on an engagement pattern. Emerge Digital builds the retrieval and action layer that makes Outreach genuinely available to an agent during a live sales interaction — different in kind from an activity-sync integration.

Outreach lives in the Engage and Convert stages — it is where the sequence runs and where the signals that indicate buying intent accumulate. Grounding agents in Outreach data means every interaction reflects the actual engagement history rather than the CRM snapshot, and the signals Outreach captures become inputs an agent can reason over rather than activity records that sit unread in a dashboard.

How Emerge integrates Outreach

Emerge Digital connects Outreach to Salesforce Agentforce as a consulting engagement, not a marketplace app. We map which sequence and engagement data your agents need to read, configure retrieval against call recordings and cadence steps, and define where an agent may adjust a sequence versus where a rep makes that call. The integration is designed around how your sales team actually runs its sequences — your Outreach workflows keep running, and the agent reads their outputs rather than replacing them.

How we structure an engagement

FAQ

Can the agent change a contact's sequence step or pause their cadence?

That is configurable. Emerge sets the permissions that decide what an agent may read versus write in Outreach, and most teams start with read-only access for agents and expand from there. We keep a human in the loop for sequence changes that could affect a relationship the rep owns.

Does the agent replace our Outreach sequences?

No. Your Outreach sequences keep running; the agent reads their state as context. The use case is making that context available to Agentforce so agents can follow up intelligently — not displacing the engagement workflow your team is already running.

We already sync Outreach to Salesforce — isn't that enough?

Syncing activity data to Salesforce is useful for CRM records, but it does not make sequence state or call recording content queryable by an AI agent. This integration adds the retrieval layer that lets an agent read live Outreach context during a conversation rather than relying on what the last activity sync wrote to a field.

How long does an Outreach + Agentforce integration take?

A focused engagement typically runs four to eight weeks: scoping which sequence data and call content agents need, building the retrieval layer, configuring engagement-signal routing, and testing follow-up and handoff workflows in a sandbox before going live. Complexity scales with the number of sequences in scope and whether agents write back to Outreach as well as read from it.
