Bring Agentforce to your team inside Microsoft Teams

For organisations standardised on Microsoft 365, Teams is the daily hub — one-to-one chats, channel conversations tied to SharePoint, and the meetings where decisions get made. When Emerge Digital connects Teams to Salesforce Agentforce, employees ask an agent a question in a chat or channel and it answers there, and it posts notifications to the channel that owns the work. Teams is the interaction and notification surface for a Microsoft-centric workforce; the customer data and actions still live in Salesforce, delivered into the tools your people already have open.

All integrations

What this unlocks

  • Employees invoke an agent from a Teams chat or channel message and get the answer in the same conversation, inside the Microsoft 365 environment they already use.
  • Agents post updates to a specific Teams channel on a trigger, so a service or sales channel becomes the place status and escalations show up rather than a separate inbox.
  • Teams and Microsoft 365 group membership govern who can reach an agent and which channels it may post to, keeping internal and cross-functional channels appropriately scoped.
  • Meeting and channel context stays in Teams while the agent brings the matching Salesforce record into the conversation, so a follow-up references the right account without a manual lookup.

In the customer journey

Answers in the channel your team lives in

An account manager @-mentions the agent in a customer channel and it returns the open opportunities and last activity from Salesforce, so the answer appears in the same Teams space where the deal is discussed.

Notify the owning team on a trigger

When a high-priority case opens, the agent posts a summary to the relevant Teams channel and flags the owner, so the group standardised on Microsoft 365 sees it without leaving Teams.

From meeting follow-up to a real update

After a meeting, someone asks the agent in chat to log the agreed next step, and it writes back to the Salesforce record once a person confirms.

Teams sits at the Engage and Convert stages as the interaction layer for Microsoft-centric teams. During Engage it is where employees reach an agent and where agents raise what needs attention; at Convert, notifications into the channel that owns an account or case keep deals and escalations moving inside the Microsoft 365 tools people already work in.

How Emerge integrates Microsoft Teams

Emerge Digital connects Microsoft Teams to Salesforce Agentforce as a consulting engagement, not a self-install app. We define which chats and channels an agent responds in, who may invoke it, and the triggers behind its notifications, then wire those to the Salesforce data and actions the agent already governs. We map Teams and Microsoft 365 group permissions to what each agent is allowed to do, and we route sensitive steps through a person before anything is sent externally or written back.

How we structure an engagement

FAQ

How is connecting Teams different from connecting Slack?

The idea is the same — a place people talk to an agent and where it notifies them — but Teams fits organisations standardised on Microsoft 365, using Teams chats, channels, and group membership. We scope the agent to your Microsoft environment; the data still comes from Salesforce either way.

Is this a pre-built Teams app we install ourselves?

No. Connecting Teams to Agentforce is a services engagement. Emerge configures which channels an agent uses, who can invoke it, and its notification triggers around how your organisation works, rather than shipping a generic plugin.

Does the agent read our Teams messages, files, or meetings?

Teams is primarily where the agent interacts and posts, not a data warehouse it mines. Membership and Microsoft 365 permissions govern who can reach it and where it posts, and it acts only within the Salesforce permissions it was granted, with a person approving higher-stakes steps.

Does Microsoft Teams integrate with Salesforce Agentforce?

Not natively. Microsoft and Salesforce have a co-sell partnership and some connector apps, but bringing Agentforce into Teams as an agent employees can talk to — and that notifies channels based on Salesforce triggers — requires a custom integration. Emerge Digital builds the channel configuration, invocation rules, and notification triggers that make Agentforce accessible from inside Teams.

How long does a Microsoft Teams + Agentforce integration take?

A focused engagement typically runs three to five weeks: defining which channels the agent posts to and responds in, configuring Microsoft 365 group permissions to govern who can invoke it, and wiring notification triggers to the Salesforce events that matter. Complexity grows if the agent needs to read Teams channel context or if Microsoft Graph API integration is required for group membership and calendar data.
