Why not the native Heroku–Salesforce integration?

Heroku and Salesforce are both Salesforce products, and Heroku Connect provides a powerful data sync between Heroku Postgres and Salesforce objects. Heroku Connect is a data synchronisation tool for keeping records in sync — it does not provide Heroku app deployment status, dyno formation, and performance context queryable by a Salesforce Agentforce agent in real time during a service conversation, and it does not trigger Heroku provisioning actions from Salesforce commercial events. Can the agent restart dynos or scale the Heroku app formation?

Dyno restart and scaling actions can be made available through an IT operations approval workflow for specific pre-authorised scenarios. Autonomous scaling or restart actions by agents without an engineering or operations approval step are not recommended — these are infrastructure changes with downstream effects on application behaviour and cost.

We use Heroku Connect for Salesforce data sync — how does this integration relate to that?

Heroku Connect synchronises data between Heroku Postgres and Salesforce objects. This integration covers the operational layer — app status, deployments, dyno configuration — and the commercial coordination layer — deal-close provisioning and case closure from deployments. The two are complementary: Heroku Connect handles data records, this integration handles application operational events.
