Ground Salesforce Agentforce on Google Cloud data

Google Cloud is the infrastructure layer for a growing number of Gulf enterprise workloads — data warehouses in BigQuery, document stores in Cloud Storage, real-time event streams in Pub/Sub, and search indices built with Vertex AI Search. Emerge Digital is a Google Cloud Partner, and we work with Gulf organisations that have made Google Cloud their primary cloud for data and AI. When we connect Google Cloud to Salesforce Agentforce, an AI agent queries a Cloud Storage bucket, searches a Vertex AI index, or reads a structured result from a Cloud SQL database and uses what it finds to inform a case resolution, a service recommendation, or a drafted reply. The retrieval is from Google Cloud; the decision is made by a person in Salesforce.

What this unlocks

  • Google Cloud Storage documents — policy files, product catalogues, operational procedures — are searchable by an Agentforce agent via Vertex AI Search, grounding responses in the organisation's own documentation rather than model memory.
  • Cloud SQL and structured database tables are queryable by the AI agent within the permissions set during the integration, providing structured context for the current case or interaction.
  • Vertex AI Search indices over large unstructured document collections bring semantic retrieval into the Agentforce workflow, so the agent finds the most relevant policy passage rather than the most keyword-matched one.
  • Pub/Sub event streams from Google Cloud workloads — order events, status changes, real-time triggers — are a readable signal for the AI agent when the interaction context requires current system state.

In the customer journey

Document retrieval from Cloud Storage

A service agent handles a query that requires a specific policy, procedure, or specification document. The AI agent queries the Vertex AI Search index over the Cloud Storage bucket and returns the most relevant passage. The service agent reviews and shares with the customer, without searching the document library manually.

Structured data lookup via Cloud SQL

For interactions that need a structured data lookup — product availability, account status, transaction history stored in a Cloud SQL database — the AI agent queries the relevant table and surfaces the result in the Salesforce case. A human confirms before the response reaches the customer.

Real-time event context from Pub/Sub

For organisations where order or service status is published as a Pub/Sub event stream, the AI agent reads the current status event for the customer's account and includes it in the case context. The service agent sees whether an order has shipped or a service ticket has been updated before the customer asks.

Google Cloud sits at the data and infrastructure layer — it is where the organisation's documents, structured records, and real-time event data live. Connecting Google Cloud to Agentforce means the AI agent is grounded in what your own systems know. For GCC enterprises with Google Cloud as their primary cloud, this integration brings their existing data investment directly into the AI agent workflow without requiring a data migration.

How Emerge integrates Google Cloud

Emerge Digital connects Google Cloud to Salesforce Agentforce as a consulting engagement. As a Google Cloud Partner, we are familiar with the GCP services and IAM model used by Gulf enterprise organisations. The integration scope depends on which Google Cloud data sources hold the information the AI agent needs — Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Vertex AI Search, or Pub/Sub. We scope the specific data sources in Discovery, configure service-account access with the principle of least privilege, document the permission and audit model, and design the retrieval patterns for the AI agent's responses. For GCC organisations with PDPL or sector compliance requirements, we confirm which GCP regions and data categories are in scope before any retrieval is built.

How we structure an engagement

FAQ

We already have a BigQuery integration with Salesforce. How is this different?

A BigQuery connector to Salesforce typically syncs or queries data between the two platforms. The Agentforce integration uses Google Cloud data as a retrieval source for an AI agent at query time — the agent looks something up and uses it to draft a response. These are complementary, and we review your existing BigQuery setup in Discovery to avoid duplication.

We use Vertex AI for our own model workloads. Does Agentforce conflict with that?

No. Agentforce runs on Salesforce infrastructure; using Google Cloud data as a retrieval source does not require using Vertex AI models. If your organisation runs Vertex AI model workloads, those remain separate and are out of scope for this integration.

Our Google Cloud data is in a specific GCP region for data residency. Is that a constraint?

GCP region and data residency are reviewed in the Discovery phase. Emerge confirms which GCP services and regions are in scope and designs the integration so data queries comply with your residency requirements and any applicable sector obligations in the GCC.
